How to Style your Home on a Budget

The one thing that I hold near and dear to my heart is the comfort of your home. There is so much importance on one's living space. Equally it's a form of self identity and a place that becomes our safe haven. Now more than ever, lines of separation have become ambiguous. Our homes have now become our working spaces, our children's classrooms and our fitness centers.

I've recently done the move from United States to Switzerland while managing Little Billow's business. Of course moving during a world pandemic was not in my favor. But in the grand scheme of things, I had to continue with life while being Safe. One of the biggest challenges, was to first find a place that I could call home then make that home a piece of myself.

Mind you, I made the move with only a bit of savings and a whole heck of faith. I thought to myself how am I ever going to decorate my home living in one of the most expensive countries in the world without breaking the bank.

Here are my step guides into investing in decorating your home on a budget:

1. ) Plants

Plants are not that expensive and are a great way to bring life to your home. Best places to go are:

Local market or even grocery store. I even found an application that sells discounted flowers from florist in your designated area. App: Togoodtogo

My favorite plant despite how little he really is has brought so much happiness and joy into my Studio apartment. Meet Felipe! The type of plant is a Satin Pothos a species of flowering plant in the arum family Araceae. He's a climber, potential to trail up to 3ft or more. So far he still is a little guy.

2. ) TEXTURES

This may sound odd but texture gives so much depth and volume to a room. Decorative pillows are great or even throwing a sheep throw or blanket over the sofa. Check out our Little Billow Sheep Throws that give your place an aesthetic look while adding that extra coziness to the room.

3. ) Lighting

IKEA IKEA IKEA. Until I lived by myself I never really understood how great IKEA is. My favorite lighting from IKEA below.
