How to Refreshen Your Sheepskin Rug

This has become my weekly ritual along with my laundry and room tidying.

At home, I have about three sheep rugs that are located in different areas of the house. One of my sheep throws is resting on the back of my office chair, the other is in my hallway and the last one is used as a bed side runner (makes my mornings a bit easier to get up to).

But despite how clean of a person I consider myself to be, they tend to need to be refreshed from being all worn. Luckily, these few steps will help keep your sheep throw looking fresh and as fluffy as you initially got it!

1. ) Grab a wired brush - gently brush along your sheep rug diagonally and horizontally to detangle any knots. My favorite wired brush is linked here. The steel wire will avoid damaging your sheep rug.

2. ) Hold Up Your Sheep Rug and Gently shake it with your other Hand - this sounds simple but it does the trick. By gently batting your sheep rug, it will allow the fiber strands to fluffen back up and brush off any particles that are on your sheep rug.

3.) Place it in your room where your diffuser is - I love doing this because I use my favorite essential oils in my diffuser and it leaves my sheep throw smelling like lavender or eucalyptus. This is very important to note. DO NOT place it to close to your diffuser, you want to make sure that it's not directly in contact with the diffuser. This could result in the oils going directly in your sheep rug which will be more of a hassle in the long run. Hang it somewhere near the diffuser and let it sit for half an hour. Come back to a refreshed genuine sheep rug!
